Triple Time Mother's Day Card

Hello and Happy Mother's Day! Today I wanted to share another Mother's Day card I made last week. Triple Time cards are quick and easy. Just temporarily mat 3 graduated size pieces of white card stock one on top of the other, and stamp. Then take the 3 pieces apart and adhere to card stock mats, alternating the stamped piece with the mat. I made 3 or 4 of these with different stamps and papers in a short amount of time. Here's my butterfly version in pink.

The stamp I used is from Stampin' Up's Papillon Potpourri. I love those butterflies. I used one of the Hero Arts mid-tone Shadow Inks in Bubble Gum to randomly stamp the butterflies. The card stock I used is from Tim Holtz's Core'dinations Distress Collection in Spun Sugar. The ribbon is Bubble Gum polka dot from A Muse Studio. After all of the pieces were adhered together, my card was affixed to a Neenah card base. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and stamped with Slate Pigment Ink from A Muse Studio.

Instructions for making triple time cards can be found on this Splitcoaststampers Tutorial.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day. This will be my second Mother's Day without my mom, so if you are lucky enough to still have your mother with you, give her an extra hug. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day!

Happy Mother's Day

Hello. It's getting close to Mother's Day, so I thought I should make a few cards. Even though my Mom is no longer with us, I like to make cards for other people. I really like how this one came out.

I love using vellum on my cards. For this card, I stamped an old floral favorite, the Hero Arts Ruffled Flower, on vellum with VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I embossed the image three times so that I could cut out and layer the pieces on Neenah white card stock. A brad from my stash was added to the center. The sentiment was stamped with A Muse Slate ink and is from the Simon Says Stamp Best Mom Ever stamp set that was included in their May 2013 Card Kit. If you haven't seen Simon Says Stamp Card Kits yet, go check them out. They are fabulous and a great price.

My Neenah card base is the standard A2 card size, which is 4 1/4" by 5 1/2". I cut the panel to 3 3/4" by 5 1/2" and used dimensional tape to adhere it to the base. I love adding dimension to my cards.

I'm participating in the Online Card Classes Watercolor class, and am off to catch up  on today's class. Watercoloring on cards is really on trend right now, and I can't wait to learn more techniques. You still have time to sign up if you're interested in this fun medium.

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!

Forever 29

Yesterday my youngest sister turned 50. I'm very confused how she can be 50 when I am only 29. Doesn't seem possible, does it? Well, it happened and I just had to make her a special card giving her a bit of sisterly advice.

I used one of the fabulous Girlfriends stamps from Art Impressions, Out to Lunch. All of the Girlfriends stamps are so funny and I just love them! I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers. (As you can see, I still need lessons with my coloring, but I keep trying.) The panel was cut with my favorite die from Mama Elephant, Femme Frames, and added to a blue Memory Box card base with foam.

I forgot to take a picture of the inside. CAS-ual Friday's WTF stamp set was perfect. Thank you, Michelle, for this great set that makes you gasp and then laugh at all the sentiments. Under WTF?, I stamped Who's turning fifty? Love it! So did my sister.

I hope you all have a great week. Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!
